Whitworth Hall Fun Day August 23rd 2014

On Saturday 23rd August 2014 Whitworth Hall held a fun day and FDAC were part of this. We held free taster fishing sessions and these ended up being fully booked through out the day. Everybody who took part caught fish and as the day went on Bream and several carp of decent size made an appearance to the enjoyment of the participants. Dave Munt and his colleagues from the Anglers Trust provided professional coaching through out the day. Ryan Collins the Junior Match Secretary also helped with the coaching under the wing of Dave. Near our marquee Chad Russell and Owen Watret our Game coaches held fly casting competitions. Inside the marquee Membership Secretary Neil Marsden recruited new members to the club and Austin Lowery & Neville Taylor gave demonstrations in the intricate subject of Fly Tying. Lizzie Willows from the Wear Trust gave an insight to all the inhabitants of our rivers not just the fish.

Thanks to volunteers Claire Russell, Shannon Russell, Corey Russell and Neville who helped us during the day.

Thanks also to Whitworth Hall for asking us to be involved with your day. See you next year.
