Ferryhill And District Angling Club

2024 Newsletter

Hello and welcome to a new season. Hopefully a much drier one.

Firstly, there is some sad news, two of our long-term members have sadly passed away late 2023. Phill Todd and Hurby Lynn they spent a lot of their time volunteering for FDAC doing lots of work around the ponds over the years, the club and members thank you for everything RIP gents, you will be truly missed.

After the last club secretary left 2 years ago N Marsden has been filling in and has now taken the role on a permeant basis.

At the 2023 AGM there has been some rule changes which are as follows…

Rule 11      now has the words added: [NO RECORDING OF ANY PART OF ANY MEETING IS ALLOUD].

Rule 31      Has changed to [NO CARP OVER 15llb TO BE PUT INTO KEEPNETS].

Rule 33     Has changed to [ALL FISH 6llb AND UNDER TO BE PUT INTO ONE KEEPNET, FISH OVER 6llb TO                       BE PUT INTO A SEPRATE KEEPNET].

The Rules page will be updated in the near future to reflect the changes.

  • Whilst on with rules can I just remind everyone [FDAC NO LONGER HAVE THE FISHING RIGHTS ON SHAFTOS]. I t has been reported by the new owners that people claiming to be fdac club members have been fishing there.

  • Finaly can all members please ensure that ALL HOOKS are BARBLESS or MICRO BARB. As there has been a case where a fish with a lure attached was picked up by a dog and the dog needed treatment from a vet to have the hook removed due to it having barbs.

Let’s hope you have a fantastic fishing season and many tight lines
